Dana Fire Department Completes Live Fire Training

Saturday March 12, 2011 marked the beginning of hopefully many training partnerships between Riley Fire Department and other area public safety agencies.  Recently, construction was completed on the new training tower that was built to the rear of Station 51 on St Rd 159 in Riley.  Dana Fire Department is in the process of completing a Firefighter I/II certification course.  To complete this course, students have to participate in a Live Fire Training.  Student’s in Saturday’s class participated in a series of 7 training fires in the tower over the course of 8 hours.  In addition to teamwork, these fires taught the students the basics of hose handling and fire behavior.  Below are several pictures taken during the training.
